Performance for Everyone

Cruising fabrics

Our cruising sails are offered in a wide variety of fabrics. For Crosscut sails we offer three different fabrics. Optimum Cruise and Marblehead are high quality woven dacrons used for day sailing and fair weather cruising. Flex Ultra is a Ultra-PE/polyester based laminate built for heavy weather and ocean cruising.

For Tri-radials and other panel layouts we are free to chose from over 20 different fabric styles. These range from bulletproof woven fabrics to carbon and fully recycled laminate fabrics. Ask your sailmaker what other materials are available for your next set of sails and they'll be happy to find the best fit for you.

Mainsails

Panel Layout

Our Cruising sails are offered in three panel layouts crosscut, tri-radial, and cross-radial.

Battens

We use Bluestreak and RBS Battens, giving us the best fit and finish as each batten is made custom for your sail.

Most commonly cruisers use full battens, but any combination is possible. Your sailmaker will work with the boats original plans to determine the best fit for you.

Finishes

Finishes vary per sail and use, but each sail is tailored to exacting standards and thoroughly checked throughout the build process, resulting in only the highest quality sails.

Hardware

Built to last with rivetless anodized headboards, stainless steel rings and grommets, and all-slip slides being standard.

HeadSails

Hardware

Cruising headsails come standard with stainless rings in the clew and soft spectra webbing attachments for the head and tack. Other hardware includes vertical or roller battens and reefs for none furling headsails.

Panel Layout and Lp

Our Cruising sails are offered in three panel layouts crosscut, tri-radial, and cross-radial.

Headsails are sized based on the Lp or a percentage of the foot.

#1 135-155%

#2 105-134%

#3 85-104%

Finishes

Headsails come in a variety of finishes, common options are foam padded luffs for easier furling and reefing, telltale windows, and custom clew fittings.

UV Cover

The UV Cover is the most important part of a furling headsail as it protects it from damaging UV rays. For colors we offer Weathermax and sunbrella, and for a flush white finish we use UV Dacron which is a light dacron with a UV Protective Coating.

spinnakers

Hardware

Our cruising spinnakers are made from 1.5oz ripstop nylon engineered for long term use and stability while cruising. Standard are stainless head/tack rings and a soft shackle clew for easier sheet removal and changing.
